HE Shuzhong
HE Shuzhong was born in Shanghai in 1962. After graduating from East China University of Political Science and Law in 1984, he became a teacher in China University of Political Science and Law. He began to work for the State Administration of Cultural Heritage since 1991, and now serves as the Counsel of the Department of politics and Law. He also founded a non-profit organization of cultural heritage protection in 1998, which was registered as “Beijing Cultural Heritage Protection Center” in 2003.
Through the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, HE Shuzhong participates in the legislative construction of cultural heritage protection in China. He also contributes to the public participation in the cultural heritage protection domestically and internationally through his NGO. As an active promoter of the rule of law of the cultural heritage protection, he won many awards, including the Outstanding Public Service Reward awarded by the Society for American Archaeology.
